Keyword Research Services - Worth It Or Not?

If you aren’t a guru then you may (like me) find keyword research difficult. I can find keywords all day long. I have a problem finding good ones.

I always believed that Google’s keyword tool gave highly accurate results. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.

The keyword data you see will be out of date and wrong. However it would have been when they collated it. I accidentally discovered the answer to that puzzle.

I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I was pretty sure I could get a good result with that keyword. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

Soon after I noticed Google telling me there was about 9000 competing pages now. My heart sank, I thought my task was gonna be twice as hard now. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

If I had saw 9000 competing sites I would have passed this keyword by. Turns out I was competing mostly against myself as my article was the cause of these sites ranking. A nice situation to be in!

I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.

Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Let’s face it, Travis is THE bum marketer. Bum marketing is something I really like.

One or two good quality keywords delivered each day could save me hours of time. An hour or two of my time is highly valuable to me when all I have is time. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I see this as nothing more than that. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.

You can find out just how the trial went over at my site. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll show you how I did that at my site.
