For instance, if you agree to send a newsletter on Wednesdays at 1 pm, do exactly that. Your subscribers will wait for your email to arrive on that exact time and you need to respect that. Doing so will show them that you are serious and will be more likely to open any promotional emails you send to them. It also shows respect for your audience and professional on your part when you are consistent with your mailings.
Since people are on guard against spam most of the time, they tend to delete whatever looks like spam to them, and you want to be sure that doesn’t happen to any of your emails. Don’t use much of hype in your email marketing and keep your subject lines as honest as possible, and keep away from too much of capitalization. Honesty and sincerity will take you far, and your prospects should be able to see that authenticity in your emails, especially the subject line. You need your email marketing campaign to build a sense of trust between you and your prospects. This helps to build your credibility. By being straightforward and honest you will not create any reason for your prospects to question your credibility. You also need to respect your subscriber’s right to privacy when you’re doing an email marketing campaign, and remember to honor their personal space. Also, state that you won’t abuse the privilege of having their email address at all, and follow through on that promise. Consider your marketing campaigns carefully and don’t try to con them. Remember to cut back on your mailings during holidays as people may already be overloaded with things to do. A holiday season is often a good time to limit the number of emails you send out, and be prepared for lower open rates.
